A winter fairytale in Zermatt – skiing fun under the Matterhorn

Day 1: Arrival in winter paradise

With anticipation in our hearts and skis in our luggage, we arrived in picturesque Zermatt. The majestic backdrop of the Matterhorn greeted us at the railway station and promised an unforgettable time in the snow. After checking into our cosy chalet, we made our way directly to the gondola station.

Day 2: In the footsteps of kings

The pistes in Zermatt are as varied as they are breathtaking. From gentle slopes for beginners to challenging runs for experienced skiers – there’s something for everyone here. The majestic Gornergratbahn cable car took us to dizzying heights from where we could admire the panorama of the Swiss Alps in all its splendour.

Day 3: Freedom in the powder snow

A morning glance out of the window told us that the night had brought fresh snow. With the powder snow crunching under our skis, we felt like we were in paradise. The descents down the unspoilt slopes were a dream, and the silence of the snow-covered landscape was only interrupted by the quiet hissing of skis.

Day 4: Enjoyable après-ski moments

After an active day on the piste, we indulged in delicious Swiss cuisine in the evening. We rounded off the day with a glass of mulled wine in the cosy huts around Zermatt. The atmosphere was warm and the hospitality tangible – a perfect end to a day full of adventure.

Day 5: A view from the sky

A special highlight of our skiing holiday was the cable car ride up the Klein Matterhorn, also known as the “Matterhorn Glacier Paradise”. At an altitude of over 3,800 metres, a world of ice and snow opened up to us. The view of the Matterhorn and the surrounding peaks was simply overwhelming.

Day 6: Relaxation in a wellness paradise

After all the activities on the piste, a day of relaxation was the order of the day. Zermatt not only offers magnificent slopes, but also first-class wellness facilities. A day at the spa with a view of the snow-covered mountains was the perfect balance to the adrenaline of the previous days.

Day 7: Farewell with a smile

The last day dawned and we said goodbye to Zermatt with a smile on our faces and many unforgettable memories in our hearts. This skiing holiday had not only exceeded our expectations, but had also shown us the true beauty of winter in the heart of the Swiss Alps.

Zermatt, with its majestic Matterhorn and first-class skiing opportunities, is undoubtedly a winter paradise that is unrivalled. Here, adventure, nature and hospitality come together to create an unforgettable experience that makes skiers’ hearts beat faster.
